Uncorked: Venice Baroque Orchestra with Nicola Benedetti

An exclusive wine tasting in the Mondavi Center's Bartholomew Room for Friends of the Institute at the Reserve Level (and above) before selected Mondavi Center presentations. Boeger Winery will pour from 7:00 – 8:00 PM, before a performance by the Venice Baroque Orchestra.

Walt Klenz Lectureship Series: Augustin Huneeus & Augustin Francisco Huneeus

Augustin Huneeus and Augustin Francisco Huneeus are coming to the Institute. Their joint lecture, "Innovation in the World's Second Oldest Profession" will be held on March 8th, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM as part of the Institute's bi-annual Walt Klenz Lectureship Series. The series brings wine industry leaders to the Institute for an evening of illuminating discussion. Augustin Huneeus is the Proprietor for Quintessa, and his son, Augustin Francisco is the proprietor and president of Huneeus Vintners. Early registration is recommended, as the event will fill up quickly. Registration is free for students (with valid ID), and general admission is $10.

Picnic Day

Join the Honey and Pollination Center in the Good Life Garden, at the Robert Mondavi Institute, for Picnic Day on Saturday, April 22, 2016. Beginning at 10:00 AM, the day will feature an array of delicious honeys to taste, as well as sales of our very own UC Davis California Wildflower Honey and California Orange Blossom, the proceeds from which support the Center's efforts. We will have craft making for kids, as well as our bee costume - come dress up as our favorite pollinator! This is a free event and is great for people of all ages. Take a break from the heat for two showings (movie TBD) at 11:00AM and 1:00PM in our Sensory Theater, RMI Sensory Building.

Sensory Evaluation of Olive Oil Certificate Course Parts I & II

June 26-29, 2017

The essential sensory course for the professional buyer, importer, category manager, producer, or anyone who wants to gain expertise in evaluating olive oil. Sensory, culinary, chemistry and policy experts guide you through a unique tasting and educational odyssey. The lessons are useful for tasters at any level of experience. Attendees receive the Olive Oil Defects Wheel, a booklet with presentations, and a flash drive with presentations and supplemental materials (part II).
